Why do you love Richmond?
Richmond is the perfect size. A blend of a large metropolitan area along with the benefits of a southern town. It has a large number of festivals and activities along the James River. A rich, deep history of our country can be found anywhere.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Richmond?
I love identifying and trying the evolving culinary scene here. The explosive growth of restaurants offering all types of food really makes it appealing to find the wonderful flavors and atmospheres in the restaurants.
What do you do here?
I work in IT in the financial and banking industry. Richmond has a very diverse and rich job market from a variety of state, regional, and national banks along with a solid foundation of tech jobs.
What’s your favorite restaurant?
I would be hard pressed to pick just one, but my top would include Joe's Inn, Bottom/'s Up Pizza, Strawberry Street Cafe, Comfort, 3rd Street Diner, Mamma Zu's.
What would you tell somebody who has never been to Richmond?
Come visit or if your considering moving, why aren't you here yet? There is a ton of things to do and explore.
What's your favorite store?
They are all good - who doesn't like a Saturday morning visit to Home Depot or Lowe's?
How do you spend your free time?
Who lives here and doesn't love the Bacon Festival, Innsbrook after Hours, catching a movie at the Byrd Theatre, the farmers market at Forest Hill ,, Maymont Park, Science Museum, Museum of Fine Arts? There is ALWAYS something to do.
What's your favorite neighborhood?
That is hard to answer - Richmond has really transformed and has a well grounded community that has a variety of neighborhoods that have distinct characteristics such a Churchill, Manchester, the Fan, Carytown, the Museum District, and the up and coming Scott's Addition.
How do you describe your community?
Strength in Diversity, and Richmond definitely has diversity.
