Our very own Sub Rosa Bakery ranked #9 on Southern Living’s The South’s Best Bakeries 2022.

Children of Turkish immigrants, siblings Evrim and Evin Dogu were taught the importance of hospitality and feeding guests. Eating was something you did together, and there was always bread. The love for bread, along with a love of fresh-milled grains and baking in wood-fired ovens, led the brother and sister to open Sub Rosa in 2012. The bakery quickly became known for turning out some of the country's best breads, and the Dogus have been semi-finalists multiple times for the James Beard Award for Outstanding Bakers. The Dogus maintain a focus on using local ingredients and milling their own flour in-house, which allows them to offer exceptionally fresh breads and pastries while at the same time building relationships with regional farmers.
