7.Maymont’s outdoor parkland and gardens are open daily 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. The Robins Nature Center at Maymont reopened on July 2. The attraction has been closed since November 1 to complete renovations and enhancements. Themed “Run of the River,” the $2.3 million project highlights the remarkable ecology of the James River located along Maymont’s southern border in Richmond, and emphasizes the natural history of the area and environmental stewardship opportunities for the community.
8.The Poe Museum reopens to the public July 14th. Note the artwork on the building’s exterior developed as part of the Mending Walls project.
9. The Valentine has reopened Tuesday-Sunday, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m., with a new costume and textiles exhibit. The museum has taken pictures from the Voices from Richmond’s Hidden Epidemic and is displaying them on the windows of the Wickham House and other buildings.
10. The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts reopens to the public on July 4 with special exhibit Treasures of Ancient Egypt: Sunken Cities.
