Exhibition curator Valerie Cassel Oliver will lead a discussion highlighting photographer and film installation artist Dawoud Bey's collaborations with composer and vocalist Imani Uzuri and dance scholar Dr. Gaynell Sherrod. These powerful artistic collaborations can be experienced in Dawoud Bey: Elegy.

Uzuri composed and performed the haunting score for Bey's three-channel film Evergreen, and Sherrod choreographed and produced the soundtrack for Bey’s 350,000; both film installations are showcased in the exhibition.

This program will illuminate aspects of each artist's research and creative process for developing their respective scores.
