Visit The Branch on Saturday, June 28th at 12pm for a deeply meaningful and creative experience combining the unveiling of Umama with the transformative activity of Story Circles. These Story Circles honor the multifaceted and profound journey of Black Motherhood—one of the core inspirations behind Umama.
At the heart of this gathering is the Divine Feminine, the universal principle of creation that resides within everyone, regardless of gender. This principle, often symbolized by the womb, is the sacred source of life and renewal, echoing the creative power of the Great Mother herself. Through storytelling and collage-making, explore how this force shapes lives, connects you, and reflects the infinite dimensions of motherhood.
Led by ART 180, the Story Circles provide an intimate and supportive environment where every voice is heard, and every experience is honored. Whether you are a mother, were raised by one, or have stories shaped by caregiving and nurturing, your story holds immense value here.
Participants will have the chance to create personal collages using a variety of paper materials and images to express their reflections. All supplies will be provided, though you are welcome to bring photos, clippings, or other meaningful paper items to incorporate into your artwork.
This workshop is open to all ages and welcomes everyone—no prior art experience is needed. Simply bring your openness, creativity, and willingness to connect. Together, celebrate the connections, self-expression, and the many ways the Divine Feminine and motherhood shape lives.
