OutRVA is back with another virtual happy hour. This time around, meet some of Richmond’s LGBTQ makers. You’ll have a chance to meet these talented artisans, crafters, and small business owners as they join us for a panel discussion while sharing some of their favorite creations.
Featured Makers
Ariane McKeller Crosby
GreenVibesRVA
GreenVibesRVA cultivates good vibes with houseplants. In fact, owner Ariane McKeller is an avid plant lover caring for 70 of her own. She believes plants can bring peace and joy to the home. You can catch GreenVibesRVA at pop-ups around Richmond and on the Lokii app.
Sarah Schultz
Fragment Jewelry Co.
Just a little bit over a year ago, Sarah started making polymer clay jewelry just for herself, and that snowballed into friends and family wanting to buy her work. She earned her BFA in Craft and Material Studies from VCU in 2008, but ventured off in different directions post-graduation. Having been furloughed from her job due to COVID-19, she got back into designing and making jewelry again.
Abby Knuff and Kelsy Boyle
Lady Street Studios
Lady Street Studios is a queer-owned studio based in the Randolph neighborhood of Richmond. Owners Abby and Kelsy met at VCUarts, where they first began to collaborate as graphic and interior design students. Their work is now a collection of playful prints, stickers, and buttons featuring animals, well-loved Richmond landmarks, queer content and more.
This event is in partnership with the Safe Space Market, a weekly event at the Lakeside Farmers’ Market featuring LGBTQ and BIPOC makers.
