Why do you love Richmond?
Richmond, for me, is all about family and great friends. RVA is not only rich in culture, but also full of history. There is lots to do and several exciting places to explore.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Richmond?
Explore Belle Isle, take pictures of the city's skyline at night, and go on ghost tours of our historic buildings.
What do you do here?
I work for the State in healthcare oversight by day and volunteer with Lakeside Rescue several nights a week. I also enjoy working with ROSMY to build awareness of its youth support programs.
What’s your favorite restaurant?
Bottom's Up Pizza. Shout out to Sally Bell's for the best upside down cupcakes though.
What would you tell somebody who has never been to Richmond before?: Avoid 95 around 5pm. Haha. Take a trip to Hollywood Cemetary. While visiting a cemetary is not the first thing people want to do on a trip, Hollywood is now home to some VA notables and has a great view of the James River.
What's your favorite store?
Growing up, I used to love to go to Phoenix Rising. It was a store which sold LGBTQ pride gear amongst other things. Unfortunately, it closed within the last year, so the runner up is The Mongrel.
How do you spend your free time?
Hanging out with friends mostly, otherwise riding on the ambulance.
What's your favorite neighborhood?
The Monument Avenue corridor.
How do you describe your community?
Friendly, full of new experiences to be had, and a great place to live and work. We have our faults like any other city or town in the world, but we also have hidden treasures.
