Black Pride Weekend Returns

In 2018, Black Pride RVA was the first event of its kind in Richmond, Virginia. This year, in 2021, the event returns July 16 – 18. The festival include a Block Party, A Day Of Purpose, Pride In The Park, and an Awards Show. This year’s theme is United In Pride #StillStanding.

Us Giving Richmond Connections (UGRC) is the non-profit organization hosting the event. Their mission is to improve the health and well-being of Black LGBTQ communities in Richmond through celebration, education, and empowerment. Black Pride RVA was born from a conversation held with Black LGBTQ leaders in the Richmond community. Because of Covid-19, the 2020 event was held virtually, but this year’s event will be held completely in-person. For more information visit www.blackpriderva.com.
