Why do you love Richmond?

I love the diverse music scene, the food, the street art, the breweries, and the people.

What’s your favorite thing to do in Richmond?

Going to the James river in the summer is a big one. Hanging out with friends, the dogs running around, and soaking up the beautiful view.

What do you do here?

I wait tables to water the money tree. But music is my passion. I sing and co-write songs with my band, My Darling Fury.

What’s your favorite restaurant?

Hmmm. I probably go to the Ellwood's (grocery store) hot bar the most, and I think that's a great place for a quick bite. But for a lunch date, I'd say Garnett's is very cute and quaint. They even prepare picnic baskets if you want to have lunch at the park across the street. Perly's is my go-to for brunch. Edo's for Italian. And L'Oppossum is a standout for special occasions. The atmosphere is quirky and kitschy, and the food is outstanding, creative, and delicious. Also, the chef/owner happens to be gay so that's a plus.

What would you tell somebody who has never been to Richmond before?

There's a lot to do, but if you're here during the summer, don't leave without playing volleyball at Babe's.

What's your favorite store?

There are two cool spots across Lamplighter on Addison, Yesterday's Heroes and Addison. They both sell clothes and accessories, mostly on consignment, but also candles and vintage knick knacks.

How do you spend your free time?

Aside from the band, I spend a lot of time with my boyfriend Netflixing and chilling. ;) Also, Weezie's is a spot I hit up a lot with friends for drinks.

What's your favorite neighborhood?

Probably Carytown. It's where I live, but you're also walking distance from a bunch of restaurants, stores, bars, and coffee shops.

How do you describe your community?

Open, progressive, and growing.
