We know June 2020 isn’t your normal Pride Month. Canceled events don’t mean you can’t celebrate. Here are five ideas to get you in the spirit.

1. Grab A Beer

Each year, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery collaborates with VA Pride for “Tropic Like It’s Hot.” This festive brew has notes of passionfruit and can be picked up at a tasting room or at local markets.

2. Book A Driveway Drag Show

Girls gotta make a living. Local drag star  Michelle Devereaux Livigne has become quite the entrepreneur booking gigs at homes around Richmond.

3. Shop LGBTQ+ Makers

On Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 take part in this shopping + awareness event to support, celebrate and promote the visibility of Richmond Virginia’s LGBTQ+ makers, artists, small business owners, and organizations doing important work for the LGBTQ+ RVA community. This Artists market + Pride event is organized by and for folks who wish to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride together in a safe way that specifically recognizes and honors our community's unique talents, creativity, diversity, and contributions.

4. Donate To Your Favorite LGBTQ Cause

Richmond is home to many organizations supporting the LGBTQ community. With COVID-19, they could use an extra love. Consider giving to VA Pride, Diversity Richmond, Black Pride RVA, Nationz Foundation, Side By Side, Richmond Triangle Players, or the Richmond LGBTQ Chamber’s relief fund

5. March

Black Lives Matter. Black Trans Lives Matter. Show your support and solidarity by showing up at a rally. Remember, the first Pride was a protest.
