The salon has long been a place of comfort, with hair stylists worldwide pulling double duty as both artistic visionary for their client, and support system extraordinaire. Refuge for Men is that and so much more. It’s safe to say Refuge lives up to its name - and then some.

Not only will you find traditional services such as a classic haircut, but Refuge also offers other such services as manicures, pedicures, and facials. Every service you need to feel your best can be found with the talented hands of the Refuge team.

First opening their doors in 2009 as a neighborhood barbershop, Refuge opened with the intent to also provide a safe space for their community. Fast forward to today where not only has the space in which the shop itself is located has grown, but so has their community service mission.

“The mission was to create a safe space where everyone felt comfortable while getting a haircut and other services,” said Dot Reid, Owner of Refuge for Men and Cosmetology Instructor. “Over the past decade we have substantially grown not only in space but in our mission to give back to our city.”

Not only is Refuge comprised of a diverse team of stylists who can help fulfill your requests, Refuge is also passionate about taking care of and giving back to their community. Such organizations and local non-profits that they have supported and help contribute to include CARITAS, Massey Cancer Center, Side by Side and The Giving Heart.

“Refuge is composed of diverse stylists and barbers who provide a wide range of services that you can't get anywhere else,” said Reid. “Refuge also has a non-profit that provides free haircuts to economically disadvantage youths and adults.”
