Why do you love Richmond?

Because it was the capital of the confederacy and has its long history of a conservative side, it also has it's reactionary progressive artsy side as well. It's nice to live in a city where the two extremes can exist side by side.

What’s your favorite thing to do in Richmond?

Visit museums and art galleries, walk along the James River, eat in our great restaurants.

What do you do here?

I'm retired from my full time job as an HR professional after 40 years and now teach painting and drawing at one of the local community colleges and make art.

What’s your favorite restaurant?

Acacia is my favorite. But it's a little pricey, so Ipanema is our go to spot.

What would you tell somebody who has never been to

Go to Carytown.

What's your favorite store?

Quirk.

How do you spend your free time?

Eating out, bicycling on the Cap to Cap trail.

What's your favorite neighborhood?

Stratford Hills near the Pony Pasture and the Fan. But lately I'm liking the pioneer areas of Manchester and Scott's Addition.

How do you describe your community?

Art loving.
