Why do you love Richmond?

Our creative culture, thriving food and brewing scene, and the festivals (there's always a festival!).

What’s your favorite thing to do in Richmond?

Have a couple beers with friends at one of our many breweries (current favorite: Ardent! They have an awesome beer garden and great beer.). If I'm being healthy, taking a run around the Fan or by the river.

What do you do here?

Media relations and marketing specialist by day, RVA fan 24/7. Volunteer with a few organizations around town, including ROSMY, Family Lifeline, Cookies for Kids' Cancer RVA and PRSA Richmond.

What’s your favorite restaurant?:

Right now, Boka Tako Bar at 304 N. Robinson St.. The Boka Tako Truck started in 2010 and this is the stationary version. All the tacos are amazing and you must try the empanadas. Plus, a great beer selection doesn't hurt.

What would you tell somebody who has never been to Richmond before?

Book a trip! There's always something to do. As a matter of fact, you're probably going to have to pick and choose what you do, because there's so much!

What's your favorite store?

Mongrel. The owners do a fabulous job of curating smile-producing gifts and items for the home. You might want to make two trips  you'll always come across something you didn't see the first go-round.

How do you spend your free time?

On porches and in parks. Richmond is enjoyed best outside. I love having a beer or a glass of wine on a friend's Fan porch or hanging out in Byrd Park.

What's your favorite neighborhood?

The Fan, where I live. It's extremely walkable with old historic homes, nestled besides neighborhood restaurants. Take a stroll and stop in at Joe's Inn for a beer or their famous spaghetti. Make sure to check out Scuffletown Park, in between Strawberry St. and Stafford, and across from Strawberry Street Cafe. It's a cute park, in an alley, where you can sit back, chill and enjoy Richmond. If you're still hungry after loading up on spaghetti (Joe's!), pop into 8 1/2 where your taste buds will find the best pizza they've ever had.

How do you describe your community?

Diverse, approachable and entertaining. And we all seem to be Richmond-enthusiasts. Ask someone their favorite thing about the city and they'll likely talk your ear off for at least five minutes.
