Richmond has never been short on charm. From cobblestone streets to historic architecture, romance is baked right into the city. But until recently, something was missing: a dedicated, joyful space for couples who want a simple, meaningful, and stress-free wedding day.
Enter Lucky In Love Wedding Chapel—Richmond’s newest destination for elopements and intimate ceremonies. Warm, whimsical, and full of vintage flair, it’s the kind of place where love leads and everything else falls perfectly into place.
A Chapel Born From a Need—and a Dream
The idea for Lucky In Love didn’t just happen. It grew naturally from the work of its founders: Tia Ballard, Kasie Murphy, and Savannah Manzie, three licensed wedding officiants and seasoned coordinators who have been helping couples tie the knot across Central Virginia.
As Tia explains, the spark came from witnessing a gap in the local wedding landscape:
“Many courthouses will issue a marriage license but no longer perform ceremonies.” Tia said. “Couples would contact me to perform a ceremony but didn’t have a space that could accommodate their intimate union.”
What began as an elopement pop-up—hosted in venues across town through Tia’s company Hello Love—quickly gained momentum. When Tia shared her dream of opening a permanent chapel, Kasie (who owns How Lucky Co.) and Savannah (founder of Atelier) immediately jumped in to help build it.
The team’s vision was clear: create a romantic, inclusive, vintage-inspired chapel that made getting married easy, affordable, and unforgettable.
Why Couples Love Lucky In Love
A Lucky In Love wedding is designed to be simple, stylish, and deeply personal. The chapel handles everything—from ceremony writing to licensed officiants to legal paperwork—so couples can arrive, take a deep breath, and focus solely on each other.
Tia, Kasie, and Savannah come from different backgrounds, but they share a deep commitment to serving couples from every walk of life.
“Our lives are more diverse and stronger because of it. We don’t want to see anyone turned away or treated differently because of who they love.”
This philosophy is at the heart of Lucky In Love. It’s not just a chapel—it’s a celebration of Richmond’s diversity, creativity, and big-hearted approach to love.
A Welcoming Space for LGBTQ+ Couples
Inclusivity isn’t a tagline here—it’s a core value.
Lucky In Love is committed to being a safe, affirming, joyful space for LGBTQ+ couples. Sadly, the owners shared that they still encounter queer couples who ask hesitantly whether they’re welcome.
Their answer? A resounding “yes” according to Tia.
“Love is love, and all are welcome here. We love being a place where couples can celebrate their love without judgment. We celebrate in the spirit of LOVE—and only love.”
The chapel’s intimate setting makes it especially meaningful for LGBTQ+ couples who want a ceremony rooted in warmth, safety, and authenticity.
A Lucky Day Awaits
Whether you're planning a spur-of-the-moment elopement, a micro-wedding surrounded by your closest people, or simply want a meaningful ceremony without the stress, Lucky In Love Wedding Chapel offers a beautiful, intentional space to say “I do.”
It’s delightful. It’s romantic. It’s Richmond.
And it might just be the luckiest place to get married in Virginia.
