Spring Festival Season Has Sprung

March 19th (hello, leap year!) may have marked the official start of spring, but for many Richmonders, spring officially kicks off with two of the city's most popular spring festivals: Shamrock the Block and The Church Hill Irish Festival. With festival season officially here, there is no better time to mark your calendars for some of the most anticipated annual spring events. This is far from an all-inclusive list. MARCH

NASCAR Cup Series Race

30th– Dominion Energy Family Easter at Maymont 

This year’s “eggs-travaganza” is bigger than ever! Bring a picnic blanket, pick up tempting treats from local food trucks and make a day of it, with 100 acres to “eggs-plore.”

31st– Easter on Parade 

A Richmond spring-time favorite filled with live music, arts and crafts and bunny-inspired outfits strolling down Monument Avenue. 

31st– 69th annual NASCAR Cup Series race - the Toyota Owners 400

Kick off spring break with the roar of NASCAR! Enjoy the weekend at the track with your whole crew, with special family ticket packages or make the track your home for race week with special camping offers.


APRIL

Ukrops Monument Avenue 10k

20th– Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10k

With live bands, dozens of spirit groups, and costumed runners, it’s no wonder this is a nationally recognized race and is considered one of Richmond’s BIGGEST block parties ever– now celebrating 25 years (and running!).

20th– Henrico Earth Day Festival

Activities include kayaking, face painting, sustainability initiatives such as energy efficiency, residential solar, electric vehicles, recycling, preserving green space, air quality, and more.

27th– Herbs Galore 

Bring a roomy wagon to carry home the bounty of herbs, annuals, perennials, vegetables, and even trees, plus garden accessories and garden-inspired goodies. Enjoy offerings from local food & beverage vendors and live music and vendor demos while you shop, plus activities for all ages. 

MAY

Dominion Riverrock

4th– Run Wild Races

Get ready to unleash your inner wild at our next Run Wild Races event at the Metro Richmond Zoo. It's an all-terrain adventure that will take you on an exciting journey through the Zoo and beyond. Choose from the Wild Mile Fun Run,Run Wild 5k, Run Wild 10k, and Wild Ninja Obstacle Course.

4th– ¿Qué Pasa? Festival

Experience a vibrant showcase of Hispanic and Latin American culture with dancing, food, drinks, crafts, art activities and more. 

4th-5th– Arts in the Park

Stroll along Byrd Park while you shop the more than 350 art exhibitors offering artwork, pottery, ceramics, jewelry, furniture and more. 

10th-11th– Sentara Cap2Cap

Cyclists of all ages and fitness levels will explore the scenic Virginia Capital Trail, a 51.7-mile paved trail stretching from Richmond to Williamsburg along the historic Route 5 corridor. With distances ranging from a family-friendly 7-mile ride to an exhilarating 100+ miles, the fully supported course includes furnished rest stops, SAG and tech support, party zones, and various registration options.

17th-19th– Dominion Energy Riverrock

Richmond’s favorite outdoor sports and music festival returns with biking, kayaking, air dogs, stand-up paddle boarding and more. Jam out on Brown’s Island to bands like Cosmic Collective, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Palmyra and The Stews. 

17th-19th– Lebanese Food Festival

Attendees will enjoy traditional Lebanese music and dancing while feasting on homemade Mediterranean food.

30th-June 2nd– Richmond Greek Festival

Opa! Indulge in a menu of traditional Greek cuisine made with love over this four day festival that grows in popularity each year. Dine on everything from gyros to spanakopita while taking in some traditional Greek dances- with plenty of opportunities to join in on the fun!

JUNE

Ashland Strawberry Faire

1st–  Ashland Strawberry Faire 

Celebrate the strawberry harvest at this fun festival featuring  a “Strawberry Kids” Parade, Kid Zone, Barking Lot, Pet Pageant, music, vendors, arts & crafts, non-profit organizations, and food vendors along the beautiful tree-lined streets of Randolph-Macon College.
