With a new brewery collaboration and summer of events, fill your growler and calendar leading up to VA Pride.

For this year's VA Pridefest, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, Ardent Craft Ales, and Center of the Universe Brewing have teamed up to create a special beer celebrating the LGBT community.

Tropic Like It's Hot is a hefeweizen brewed with passion fruit, pineapple, and lime and will be perfect for those hot summer days.  

There will be plenty of opportunities to try Tropic Like It's Hot at local restaurants and the other partner breweries leading up to September.

Summer Events

Love On Tap
July 9, 12 - 6 p.m.

Hardywood releases the brew as part of its second annual "Love On Tap" event celebrating the anniversary of the Supreme Court's recognition of marriage equality.  Hardywood's taproom will be open with food trucks, an LGBT vendor market, DJs, and some of RVA's favorite drag queens.  Hardywood is located at 2408 Ownby Lane, Richmond, VA 23220.

COTU Cabana
August 12, 3 - 7 p.m.

Center of the Universe transforms into a tropical paradise as Tropic Like It's Hot goes on tap.  Enjoy free salsa lessons, tropical cocktails made with the beer, a Carmen Miranda look-alike contest, special guest bartenders, and Happy Empanada & The Cultured Swine bringing food offerings.  Center of the Universe Brewing is located at 11293 Air Park Rd, Ashland, Virginia 23005.

Ardent Speakeasy
September 2, 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Get the secret password for Ardent Craft Ale's Pride Speakeasy.  Sip on Tropic Like It's Hot with drag queens, entertainment, and a 1920s contest.  More details to come. Ardent Craft Ales is located at 3200 W. Leigh St, Richmond, VA 23230.
